I can't help but wonder if the true root of the community frustration we feel is coming from the fact that so far it appears as though you may not realize how absolutely perfect the game you made already is. Play with us, evolve with us, challenge us, don't be afraid of generosity, and I can guarantee all parties will thrive. Players versus developers, and instead of backtracking, why not take the challenge? Instead of removing something overpowered, make a new feature that makes that power seem infantile. To (badly) paraphrase Blizzard concerning Diablo 3, "When we think of new ideas and think they'll break the game, we know it's a good idea." Games like TT2 are our way of releasing that stress, or gaining back that sense of power, or escaping painful circumstances, and the accidental game mechanics give us a feeling like there's finally something we can do to control even one part of our lives. Still others need to escape impossible situations, even if it's just for a little while.ĭid you believe you were game developers? For some of us, GameHive, you're heroes. Others of us suffer from various disabilities, and play games to feel a sense of movement and power we've all but forgotten.

So often, we feel blocked from every side, forced into jobs and lives and choices we don't always want and which can and will lead us nowhere.

To put it succinctly, if we want to spend five years getting nowhere and feeling frustrated, we may as well just start a business instead.įor many of us, the sense of progress is the reason we play games in the first place. We would argue that if you slow down the progression a large amount of the fun will also fade. As it already is, for the vast majority of us TT2 is a very slow paced game. The in-game time required for your legitimate player base to get somewhere that feels satisfying using your accidental game mechanics is staggering. So what if some of us crazy, crazy people are beating the game? Is this really such a bad thing? You know they must have loved it more than the rest of us can imagine. GameHive, I can't help but wonder: what if? You know what that's like- you're working now.Īnd, I mean, we want to spend that money here! On your game! Real in-game currency that folks have spent real money that took them hours of real work to earn. You are flooded with support tags and can't keep up.

We've gained ground from exploits, sure, but the losses we've suffered are real. P2P players and F2P players alike are reaching higher stages faster than you can fix the bugs. Look, we realize that this didn't quite turn out the way you intended. You're losing money, respect, and developers. Right now there's a lot of hurt going on, and I imagine you are probably as frustrated as we are.
